| Florence is served by Fremont School District Re-2. Florence High School (at right) provides classes for grades 9-12. Voters passed a bond issue in 2003 to build the new high school just north of the city. Students in grades K-8 attend Fremont Elementary School. district, with many antique stores, cafes, galleries
and coffee houses adding to the Victorian ambiance. A major attraction for the city is its annual Pioneer Day Parade, left, held each year in September. |

Florence's merchant
community is promoting the downtown district by
installing park benches, new lighting, planters and
trees to create a welcoming
atmosphere. Art fairs
and gallery shows are frequent. Florence is widely known for its many antique stores and antique malls which draw treasure hunters from all over the West. In addition, several art galleries and coffee houses, sometimes with live music performances, are located in the downtown area. Several fine restaurants serving unexpected cuisine are also found here. |
