MISSION STATEMENT

and ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION

 

Article I

 

The name of the association is The Florence Chamber of Commerce.

 

Article II

 

This Association is organized and formed for the following objectives and purposes, namely:

 

1.     To offer the citizens of Florence and Fremont County an organization that will provide a united effort to nurture commerce, encourage positive growth and maintain a progressive and pleasant community.

 

2.     To initiate, encourage, and assist movements and projects leading toward the maintenance, construction, and improvement of an efficient overall infrastructure serving Florence and Fremont County.

 

3.     To send delegates and take part in such conventions, gatherings, and in- service training as shall, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, meet the objectives and be in the interest of the Florence Chamber of Commerce.

 

4.     To foster new industries, give aid and information to those seeking new locations, and encourage positive growth.

 

5.     To support and lend efforts to municipal and other governmental projects that benefit both commercial and residential best interest of the community, and to offer support in maintaining the beautification of the city.

 

6. To work in concert with other area organizations, support their programs and events, and enlist them to support the Chamber of Commerce in its efforts.

 

7.     To have and to exercise all the rights, privileges, and functions which usually pertain to an organization of this character and to promote the welfare of this community.

 

Article III

 

The business and affairs of this organization shall be managed by a board of directors which shall consist of no fewer than nine (9) and no more that twelve (12) regular directors and any number of specified directors as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors. Directors shall be elected for a term of three (3) years.

Article IV

 

The Board of Directors shall have the power to make such prudent by-laws as they may deem proper for the management of the affairs of this organization. The by-laws, together with these Articles of Association, may be amended, changed or modified by a majority of the votes cast at any annual meeting of the association or by a 2/3 vote of the Board of Directors at any Board of Directors meeting.
