Paint the Town
Concept
A two-day festival for on-site painting
and drawing in Florence, Colorado.

Procedures
Artists must check in before beginning work, and materials must be stamped prior to beginning the work. Only enough
materials for three completed works will be stamped.
Each artist may submit up to 3 completed works for judging.
Once judged, artwork
will be displayed in the various Florence galleries.
All art produced for the festival must be for sale. 15% of sale price goes to
Florence Arts Council.
Minimum size: 5" x 7"
Art must be framed or matted and ready to hang. No metal-leafed frames will be accepted.
Unsold work will remain on display through Oct. 19. Artists must pick up their work between Oct. 19-Oct. 31. Art which is not picked
up by 5 p.m. Oct. 31 becomes the property of the Florence Arts Council, unless prior arrangements are made.
Florence Arts Council
must be given the rights to use images of any work entered for promotional purposes. Artists whose work is used in promotional materials
will be given 25 copies of any brochures, handbills, advertising, etc., in which their image is reproduced.
Location
Artists may render
any subject of their choosing. On Friday, Oct. 10, artists may paint in any location in an area bounded by the Highway 115 bridge
east of Florence, the Federal Prison complex on the south, Pathfinder Park on the west and Florence High School on the north. On Saturday,
Oct. 11, artists must paint within a 6-block radius of the intersection of Main Street and Pikes Peak Avenue.

8 a.m. to 12 noon - Registration begins. Registration booth set up at Blue Spruce
ARTISTS MAY BEGIN PAINTING AS SOON AS REGISTRATION
IS COMPLETE
Saturday, Oct. 11
ARTIST'S - START YOUR BRUSHES!! Begin whenever you wish.
3 p.m. Deadline for completed work to be turned
in, site to be determined.
3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Judging takes place
5:30 p.m. - Artists Reception. Time and Site TBA.
Awards will be given
for first, second and third place. First prize: $300; second prize - $200; third prize, $100
Art will be displayed until the close
of the reception.
Show continues
By Monday, the show will be put up at the various downtown galleries and the Paint the
Town Exhibition will continue through Oct. 19 at those galleries during regular business hours.
